InterPrint™ is a Chooser-level printer driver that allows you to print transparently to any LPR-based PostScript® print spooler. Once configured, InterPrint is as easy to use as selecting Print from the File menu.
1.1 What’s Included in the InterPrint Package
InterPrint includes one 800K diskette, the InterPrint User’s Guide, the product registration card, and an additional book, About Networking: A Guide to TCP/IP and MacTCP. InterPrint provides on-line Balloon Help™ for System 7 users.
1.2 Your Product Registration Card
Please complete the pre-addressed, postage-paid registration card, including the product serial number, and return it to InterCon Systems. Registering your copy of InterPrint entitles you to automatic upgrades, product announcements, and technical support. The serial number is used to verify your registration and assure you of the support you have paid for.
1.3 Using this Document
This document details installation, configuration, and using all of the features offered in InterPrint. Use the Contents menu to view the Table of Contents and to open chapters. To print this document, select Print… from the File menu.
◊ This document is written for users who are already familiar with basic Macintosh operations. If you do not understand basic Macintosh interface concepts such as using the mouse, opening files, or copying files, please read the user guides that were included with your Macintosh computer.

Chapter 1 • About InterPrint explains the contents of the InterPrint package, describes the layout and stylistic conventions used throughout this document, outlines system requirements for InterPrint, and covers making this document an Apple menu item for System 7 users.

1.3.2 Identifying Text Styles
Bold text indicates the names of buttons, menu items, windows, files, folders, dialogs, and text boxes.
Courier‚Ñ¢ regular style indicates text to be typed by the user.
Underlined text indicates a term to be defined or refers the reader to sections of this document or other reading materials. It is also used for variable strings, for example hostname, that should be substituted with valid data, such as intercon.com to refer to the primary host at InterCon Systems Corporation.
1.3.3 Understanding Symbols
1. An indented, numbered list indicates steps you should take to perform an action.
‚àö A check mark indicates the result you should obtain by performing the preceding step.
• A bullet indicates an item in a checklist.
◊ A diamond indicates an important item, such as a solution to a problem that users frequently encounter, or potentially useful information, like a definition of a term.
1.3.4 Making this Document an Apple Menu Item
You may find it convenient to access this on-line help document through the Apple menu whenever you are using InterPrint or its utilities.
◊ It is only possible to make this document an Apple menu item when running System 7.
To make this document an Apple menu item:
1. Select the InterPrint On-Line Help icon in the InterPrint Extras folder.
2. Select Make Alias from the File menu.
‚àö An alias of the InterPrint On-Line Help icon appears.
3. Drag the alias to the Apple Menu Items folder in your System Folder.
‚àö You can now select InterPrint On-Line Help from the Apple menu.
To remove the InterPrint On-Line Help item from the Apple menu:
1. Open the Apple Menu Items folder in your System Folder.
2. Drag the alias of the InterPrint On-Line Help icon to the Trash.
‚àö This removes the InterPrint On-Line Help item from your Apple menu. The original InterPrint On-Line Help document remains in the InterPrint Extras folder.
1.4 What You Need For InterPrint
InterPrint requires the following:
• A Macintosh SE or newer model
• 2 megabytes of RAM under System 6, or 4 megabytes under System 7
• Macintosh System Software version 6.0.8 or higher
◊ InterCon strongly recommends that you use the most recent system version possible. InterPrint is fully System 7-compatible and works with Virtual Memory (VM) and 32-bit addressing.
